Don’t Lose Focus

You are going to be tested. You are going to feel tired. You may feel that the best thing is to give up. You may be asking yourself why it’s taking so long. I want to encourage you, Don’t Lose Focus. I heard Tyler Perry say something the other day that was simple but profound. He said, “Sometimes God will hide you and maybe it is not your time to be seen yet.” He then closed with these words, “In the meantime prepare.” I want you to know even if things are not going the way you want it to go, what you want to do is prepare yourself for your breakthrough in the meantime. The funny thing is some people will then consider you lucky. I always heard that LUCK is opportunity that meets preparation. I say that because we will be tested, we are going to feel tired and may want to give up. Remember, giving up is not an option. In fact, people who don’t understand your dream may want to discourage you when they see you going without any breakthrough and may think you are crazy. Boldly let them know that you are crazy about your passion and if staying prepared are crazy in their eyes, and then being prepared is a good crazy. It was Anthony Robinson who said, “One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.” If it is going to take preparation to be a success, then prepare yourself. Also, staying laser focused is very important because life is going to serve you some lemons as distractions. Therefore, being focused on what you want to accomplish will give you a better chance of making your dream a reality. DON’T LOSE FOCUS!

  1. Hey Richard, great post here… I love that tyler perry quote, but as you pointed out, it is important to stay focused on sharpening one’s skills during this time, and not be lazy or complacent, but doing everything in one’s power to be ready for the opportunity the Lord will bring our way. Blessings Brother…

  2. Richard, this is a great article and a timely reminder to ALL. I too liked the Tyler Perry quote, and plan to share it with the single women I coach. A wise woman uses her single season to prepare for the marriage she’s praying God will gift her. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
