What is the iron quality of success? You may be drawing close to your deadline and the goals that you have set out to accomplish now appear to be far fetched. What are you going to do? Will your thoughts be, I am not going to make it, or I should have followed my mind and quit along time ago? That is not a winner’s attitude. Remember, winners don’t quit. Know this, just because you didn’t reach your goal on your time schedule doesn’t mean you are out of time. You just have to press some more. That is what winners do. They press even when they are tired.
The iron quality of success is persistence. Do you have it? If not, you need to develop within you the persistence to follow through even when there is no clear sign of possibility. You’ll never know what you will accomplish if you don’t give yourself the opportunity by giving one more try. I like what Calvin Coolidge said in this quote, ” Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”
I spoke to a few of my friends and they stated that they thought they would have already been closer to where they should be. In fact, I told them to tie a knot on the end of the rope and hold on. Will you tie a knot to the end of your rope? After you do, make sure you start pulling yourself back up. Remember this, never say you don’t have the strength, because you are powerful beyond measure. By all means, never quit! As Elbert Hubbard states with this quote, “A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success.”
Your job is to persist. Remember, achieving your dream is on your list. In you the power already exists. Bear in mind, sometimes the progress comes with a twist. Keep going, because very soon you’ll be able to check it off your list.
Have a great one!
