Be Teachable

Be teachable. It’s an attitude that can bring great advancement, improvement and progress to your life. We all want some sort of advancement, improvement and progress. Therefore, we have to be open to learn new things. Also, being teachable will help you unlearn things that hold you back from making progress in life. Are you willing to be teachable? I will say this, I for one was not seen as teachable because I would not listen to what was said and I would sometimes act as if I already knew. “You think you know it all,” would be the response at times. I will say now,  I have become wiser of the fact that I still have a lot to learn despite the many books that I have read. For that, I really like how Issac Newton puts it, “What we know is a drop, what we don’t know is an ocean.” With this in mind, know that there is always room for improvement.

Be teachable, the attitude that will make a whole lot of difference.

To put it differently, being teachable is having the hunger and the willingness to discover and learn new things that will provide the progress you’ll need. For one thing, when you stop learning, you stop growing. Remember, we are not here to be stagnant, we are here to evolve to the best person we can be. What other way to expand than to be teachable? As Henry Ford put it so succinctly, “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.”

Be a good listener because it plays an integral part of being teachable.

If a man empties his purse into his head, no man can take it away form him. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.
(Benjamin Franklin)
