Extracurricular activities are activities that are outside what you would do normally. For students, it is anything that is outside the classroom and for adults it is anything outside of work. These activities can help with learning new skills; learn more about yourself and at the same time provides us with some fun. Furthermore, our extracurricular activities show to others what we are passionate about and in the same breathe shows how versatile we are. When we leave school as adults we forget how important extracurricular activities are to our wellbeing. What is your extracurricular doing for you? Are you involve in any extracurricular activities?

We are all engaged in things outside our normal daily activities, but I believe that whatever we engaged in should still add value to our lives in some way or another.

  1. Your extracurricular activities should – ENERGIZE you. You don’t want to be engaged in activities that are going to drain you.
  2. Your extracurricular activities should help you activate your – X-FACTOR. Your x-factor is what makes you unique.
  3. Your extracurricular activities should help you THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. It is worth learning new things and new ways of doing things.
  4. Your extracurricular activities should REINFORCE what your are passionate about.
  5. Your extracurricular activities should provide ADVANCEMENT physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually.
  6. Your extracurricular activities should enhance your CHARACTER in a meaningful way.
  7. Your extracurricular activities should help with UNCOVERING dormant potentials.
  8. Your extracurricular activities should help you RECOGNIZE other things that you are good at.
  9. Your extracurricular activities should help with REDUCING stress that may build of from doing your normal daily activities. (In the classroom or work)
  10. Your extracurricular activities should IMPACT your life in a positive way.
  11. Your extracurricular activities should CONNECT you with other like minded individuals who share similar passion.
  12. Your extracurricular activities should UPLIFT your spirit if you are feeling down.
  13. Your extracurricular activities should benefit the LIFESTYLE you consciously choose to live.
  14. Your extracurricular activities should provide you with some feel of ACCOMPLISHMENT. Otherwise you maybe wasting your time.
  15. Your extracurricular activities should help you REFRESH your thinking.

By all means we should enjoy the extracurricular activities that we consciously choose to get involved in. When you are enjoying your extracurricular activities the things that are listed above will eventually fall into place.
