7 Habits Of The Highly Successful That You can Adopt

You can change your D.N.A

“Success is never on discount! Greatness is never on sale! Greatness is never half off! It’s all or nothing! It’s all day, every day! Greatness is never on discount!” -Eric Thomas

Successful people are not different from you, what they do, how they do it and the amount of time spent doing it may be different. We all do things throughout our day and some of the things we do, we do them naturally because they have become ingrained in our habitual behaviors. Habits that the successful people fostered are the habits that make their lives better and those habits have been carried out consciously. That means, successful people engage in what they are doing with the intention to get the most favorable result. They are optimistic. However, the habits that got them to where they are can also be a part your DNA.  Meaning you too can cultivate the habits of successful people in your own life, which may take time. However, over time they will become a part of your Daily Natural Actions.

My whole perspective on the possibility of success changed when I realized that the successful people that I admired all shared similar habits that I can develop myself.

These are seven of the habits shared by successful people that we can all adopt

  • They focus on continuous improvement
  • They focus on the things that produce results
  • They get the right amount of sleep
  • They have a morning routine that they follow
  • They avoid perfectionism
  • They take action quickly
  • They network and build mutual relationships with other people

We all desire to be successful in life and if we look carefully we’ll see that success leaves clues. If you know of someone that has mastered an area that you are interested in by all means study them and what they have done.

“If you want to make a permanent change, stop focusing on the size of your problems and start focusing on the size of you!” T. Harv Eker

What are some of the habits that you admire in successful people?

  1. One of the most interesting aspects of a successful person to me is that they have not attempted to reinvent the wheel. They find ways, as you reflect here Richard, to emulate others who have found success. They discover what those successful people have done over and over and over again…because it works…and do likewise in pursuit of the same results.

Becoming a quick study to such forward thinking individuals will empower us to follow the path to success while minimizing the obstacles that stand in our way. “They take action quickly.” Procrastination may be one of our greatest weaknesses. By avoiding putting things off for another day means we are that much closer to realizing positive results in keeping with our goals. Procrastination weighed down my own efforts until I finally realized the adverse affects it had on my own efforts…and how that was perceived by others.

There are many things in life we avoid yet the problems do not just go away.

Avoiding perfectionism…now there is something I need to work on!

    • Don, your first sentence was always a reminder to me by my first mentor. “Success leave clues.” Trying to be perfect before taking action seems to be a challenge for quiet a few people, even my students say they prefer to have all there duck in a row first. I come to realize that nothing is wrong with failure, as we can learn and move forward. Thanks again Don.
