It is common for businesses to have a mission statement and the reason for that is for the business to operate effectively. Therefore, if we also want to be effective we should have a personal mission statement.
A mission statement is a written down reason that is used to establish what is important. So when you make your personal mission statement your mission should be important to you, the impact you want to create and or the contribution you want to make. Day 15 video is on YouTube and would love to hear from you!
Your personal mission statement will also help with clarifying what you are about and what you want to do in life. Also, it can help with finding your path in life.
For your mission statement and what is very important when you are crafting your mission statement is that you have to have a passion for your mission. Therefore, what you decide to put on paper need to come from the core of who you are.
Once you decide what you want very soon you’ll realize that what had happen in the past is no match to your new found focus. What motivate you will keep you going and if you have a passion for your mission that passion will keep the fire burning even when you have roadblocks.
As Steve Maraboli said, “Your greatest self has been waiting your whole life; don’t make it wait any longer.” So let me share with you 3 things you want to have in mind when putting your personal mission statement together. They are
- What you want to be
- What you want to do
- What you want to see
Let’s say you want to be a teacher. As a teacher your mission is educate and inspire your students and what you want to see is manifest from you teaching your students is for them to become the best they can be.
We all have a purpose and remember, your greatest self has been waiting!
IT IS POSSIBLE TO GO BEYOND LIMITATIONS. IT MAY NOT BE EASY, BUT IT IS POSSIBLE.
