Relationships can make or break us. What is your relationship doing for you? It doesn’t matter who you are, I don’t believe that you would want a relationship that is going to make you uncomfortable in a bad way. Having peace in your relationship will make you enjoy your relationship better. You may even feel on top of the world. Well, for peace to be in a relationship it has to be a collective effort by those who are involved. Having peace may not give you the world. However, having the world may not make your relationship peaceful. I know you would rather have the peace, right! However, to maintain a relationship it can be challenging, but you may already know that. Let’s look at these 7 practical practices that can help you to keep the peace in your relationship.

  • Mutual Admiration and Respect

In making someone feel good to be around you can make all the difference in the world. Am I wrong? I know you need to be valued and validated, so does your partner. It is a good practice to remind them that you admire them. Moreover, show that you are proud of them especially when they do something good. Equally important, let them know you love them.

  • Quality Time

When you are in a relationship, spending some quality time together is very essential. Go on dates. Go for walks. Take long drives. Go for trips. Travel places. It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you both are in a zone that you call yours.

  • Communication

Many relationship experts may say communication is what makes a good relationship. What do you think? No, it doesn’t mean you talk for hours and hours. It means you listen to what the other person is saying, get to understand each other better without being judgmental. Communication is the key to the healthy and peaceful relationship. Through communicating is where you get to understand each other, with minimum effort.

  • Give and Take

You may not get it right every time. That doesn’t mean you should avoid doing something purposefully that cause some disagreements. Furthermore, no relationship can work where one person is making all the efforts, and the other one is just enjoying the benefits. What can do a great deal is to figure out what your partner needs, and try your best to make it happen. You have no idea how powerful that can be.

  • Understand That There Will Be Ups and Downs

Do you believe a relationship can be great all the time? I’ll leave that answer to you. A relationship will experience conflicts. But you, together need to fix it. Understand that taking the problem outside may make things escalate. Remember, it is always how you deal with what you are dealing with; being that it is not the most pleasant will make the difference.

  • Keep Yourself in Others Shoes

In a case, there is a conflict or argument try to see the scenario from your partner’s point of view. Don’t be too quick to judge them. Listen, before you speak.  Moreover, be ready to forgive and remember why you love them in the first place. Not to mention, don’t get into fights for stupid reasons.

  • Listen to Your Heart

Don’t always make things logical. Sometimes to have peace you have to be illogical. Moreover, listening to or with your heart is listening without judgment. To have peace in a relationship, you have to avoid being judgmental.

You can start having peace in your relationship starting today.

We know what gets the people around us upset and for some of us, we keep pressing those buttons, but at the same time, we want them to show us that they care. Therefore, knowing that you know the wrong buttons, of which I am assuming that you also know the right buttons. Will you start pressing those right buttons? The right buttons will encourage, uplift and magnify the person or people that you are around.

Your kind words could be the difference maker in fulfilling a promise that someone has made to his or herself.

By pressing the right button, we can cause someone who is a coward or timid to gain the confidence to step into their greatness. You already know or have heard that there is power in our words. Therefore, for the next season, your season you want to make sure you are pressing the right buttons. What is so good about helping someone to realize within themselves that there is greatness, you too will get the chance to experience the positive energy. Isn’t that worth pressing the right buttons? Press the right buttons in the people around you and even those you come in contact with!

Don’t allow those around you to feel as if they are taking the journey that they are passionate about alone.

I say all that to say, you may be encouraged, motivated and empowered, but life is funny so if you are in the position to press the right button for someone it is imperative you do. The person you encourage today could be the very same person to encourage you tomorrow. So, despite knowing what will upset those who are closest to you, you can, and it is in your power to ensure whatever you say will help them to feel good about themselves.
