90 Day Challenge: Day 77 – Get The Negative Energy out Of your Life

Don’t be too quick to say that all the negative energy you are experiencing is outside of you before you even check yourself to ensure that the pessimistic approach to life is not a part of your outlook.

Before you blame anyone or anything you need to check yourself.

Do you talk only about your problems? Do you talk about what you can’t do? Do you see yourself as a victim? Why we need to address those questions, first, is because if we are serious about having an optimistic approach to life we have to make sure we are not guilty of being negative. Don’t be the one to put your own light out, (or cast  your own shadow), especially if you want to be a better person, a stronger person or a more focused person.

“Always end the day with a positive thought. No matter how hard things were, tomorrow is a fresh opportunity to make it better.”Unknown

Well, after addressing yourself and realizing that the negative energy is not from you, you will have to make some decisions that will be in your favor. Putting off your growth or success to please others is self-sabotaging and there is nothing pleasant or positive about doing so. Don’t allow anyone to steal your joy. In fact, the more you practice being positive, optimistic about life and self-motivated what you’ll start to realize is that those who cannot match your state of being will slowly find themselves out of your life. Remember, it is all about the energy you are putting out. Be positive!

In order for you to create healthy life choices, you have to insist on being positive and that positivity should always begin with you. We should all guard our mind and heart against what will not serve us. Life will challenge us, but we don’t have to give in to the challenges.

Being positive is a choice and you too can make that choice!

How Do We Make The New Habits Stick

Creating new meaning for our lives can come as a result of forming new habits.

I once was told not to start anything that I am not going to commit to. I am guilty like some of you, who have started things and end up not following through to the end. All is not lost but in order to get past that habit of starting and stopping before completion, you’ll have to first be honest with yourself and stop saying you are okay when you are not.

You have in you to finish what you have started.

Don’t sweat it if you are not perfect in the beginning. Remember it is something new that you are doing. The good thing about it is that you are doing it.

I know you have heard to be consistent and if you can be you’ll form that new habit after 21 days or so. However, the consistency piece is what some of us have a problem with. What I found out for myself and from reflecting today was that whenever I have stopped what I have started in the past was because I started before I make a plan on how to complete what I have started.

Do you have an accountability partner? We all need someone at times to keep us motivated especially when we are forming a new habit.

Making positive change in our lives can be challenging but if we really want to experience more out of life – going the extra mile will worth it. It was Mahatma Gandhi who said, “As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world – that is the myth of the atomic age – as in being able to remake ourselves.” That is to say, forming new habits is a way of remaking ourselves.

Only you can make your new habits stick.

It is good to start when we are ready but sometimes life happens and we have to start even before we are fully ready. Therefore, with these two simple reminders I hope they with making your new habit stick. They are, don’t worry about being perfect and get an accountability partner.

“99% of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.”  George Washington Carver

What new habit have you formed lately that impacted your life greatly?
