Our homes have a job to do. We have a choice on how we want to condition the mind of our kids. For one, don’t let them lose their inner child by conditioning them wrongfully. We must let the way we verbally condition our kids be uplifting, empowering, encouraging, as we must remind them daily of their abilities and not what they cannot do. Don’t assume that a child can’t, because children tend to believe what they are told repeatedly.

We are all exposed to verbal conditioning. Now, let’s break the question down in small pieces, by defining the main words. Let’s start with override, which is to put something else in place for what you want to change. Destructive is that which does not serve you in a positive way. Verbal is the expression through words. Conditioning can either be rewarding or harmful but it’s an act that is performed over a period of time which they become a natural part of your physic.

If home is the beginning of the conditioning process, we can then instill greatness in our kids early on in life. What do you think?

Ingrained behaviors/habits become a part of us through conditioning and to break the destructive ones it will take some time. On that note, you MUST be willing to do what it will take to override the destructive verbal conditioning and that can be done by using constructive self-suggestion. You will have to change what you are saying to yourself, but you will have to be fully conscious of what you want to change. With that being said, to override the destructive verbal conditioning you will have to:

  • Change the negative self-talks to positive self-talk. I can instead of I can’t.
  • Observe your own behavior; replace what you would want to stop doing with what you would want to start doing.
  • Nurture the already good habits. What you spend time on will develop and eventually get stronger.
  • Decide that the limiting belief you currently hold of yourself is not true.

  • Initiate the first move towards personal development. It may take some time but you are on your way once you gain the courage to start and that’s what is important.
  • Train your thought process to think differently. As Albert Einstein said that no problem can be solved with the same level of thinking that created them.
  • Insist on practicing your new way of thinking every day until it becomes a part of your psychic. Read good books and listen to audios.
  • Own up to what you want to change. You will not change a habit that you are afraid to confront.
  • Note your progress. It’s good to know that you are improving and in the progress in builds your confidence.

Once we know that limiting beliefs are part of the conditioning that we all were exposed to, we’ll start the process of reversing that belief by being constructive in our thinking.

To Be A Champion You Must Learn To DEFEAT Yourself

Defeat means winning victory over someone. In life at times the person we have to win the victory over is ourselves.

Do you want to win at the game of life? I do, and I guess you do too. A friend of mine has been on a strict diet of which he eliminated meat and dairy products. I remember the day when he called and told me that he was going to change his way of eating. Initially I thought to myself that I couldn’t see myself doing that, but I conquered that too. However, Wiggan has been an athlete all of his life. In fact, that’s how we met more than 15 years ago, competing against each other. To cut the story short, Wiggan told me more than a year ago that to be a champion you must learn to defeat yourself. Today, Wiggan is running faster than he ran 10 years ago. Why? He has learned how to defeat himself in many areas including craving the food that is unhealthy and even the thoughts that produce fear.

What will you change to get the results you want out of life? Remember, just because you have been doing them all of your life doesn’t mean it will be impossible to change them. You have the power to change your behavior and habits if you want to. In life I found that it is not easy to stop behaviors and habits that have been entrenched deep into our subconscious mind, but I also know that we have the power to change our way of living in the world if we want to. My friend is a true champion, and I tell him almost every time we speak that his drive motivates me. He has been winning all of his races, and he associates his winnings especially to the change he has made in his diet.

So I wanted to share with you ways to D.E.F.E.A.T. yourself in the process of becoming a Champion:

BEING A CHAMPION = MAKING DECISIONS You have to make a conscious DECISION that you want to have more out of life. You have to be honest with yourself about where you are and where you want to be. Furthermore, you have to continue to make that decision over and over, especially when you don’t feel like it.

BEING A CHAMPION = EVALUATING WHERE YOU ARE You have to EVALUATE your life to see how what you have been doing is affecting your life. You have to choose to give up what you are for what you want to become.

BEING A CHAMPION = FOCUSING ON THE RIGHT THING You have to FOCUS on the one or two things you want to implement in your life and not so much on what you want to change.

BEING A CHAMPION = ENVISIONING THE OUTCOME BEFORE THE OUTCOME IS VISIBLE You have to ENVISION what you want to achieve in your minds eye and then start working towards that goal. Seeing yourself at the end even before you are there helps you to continue to make the right decisions to get there.  

BEING A CHAMPION = ASSOCIATING WITH CHAMPIONS You have to ASSOCIATE yourself with other champions, and as you may have heard, success leaves clues. Through your association you’ll learn to drop habits that don’t serve your evolution.

BEING A CHAMPION = TRAINING YOURSELF You have to TRAIN yourself to accept a new way of life through constant practice, application, repeated action and affirmation.

YOU CAN GET MORE OUT OF LIFE, BELIEVE ME, BUT IT IS ON YOU TO DECIDE THAT YOU WANT TO HAVE MORE. AS LES BROWN WOULD SAY, “YOU HAVE TO BE HUNGRY!” ARE YOU?
