7 WAYS TO EMPOWER OUR YOUTH

“Good habits formed at youth make all the difference.” – Aristotle

We have a job to do. However, we sometimes like to count ourselves out when we are not in what some people think is a position of influence. Don’t allow the perception of what they think to deter you. Besides, our duty is to empower our youth to succeed. The truth is, you too can empower our youth no matter what position you hold. Remember, they are our future.

Someone is counting on you so if you know the way it’s time you start showing the way.

I don’t know about you, but I know what a little empowerment, recognition, and responsibility can do. If you are looking forward to a better future, let‘s start empowering those who will later become leaders of the future. Remember, have to start from where the leaders of today stop.

Let’s help our youth to remain hopeful, help them to see beyond their struggles and believe in the possibility that still exist.

Empowerment is to empower others to take charge of their lives.

To empower our youth is important and it’s important that we start molding the future leaders now. Here we go:

  1. Equip them with the necessary information/resources so they too can be change agents.
  2. Make them a part of the initiatives that enhance personal development and growth.
  3. Provide them with an adequate amount of opportunity so they can utilize their natural God given ability.
  4. Open to their concerns because a listening ear can help with building someone confidence.
  5. Work alongside them, so they know that they are not alone on their journey.
  6. Encourage them to do what they are passionate about because when you do what you love, you naturally feel empowered.
  7. Recognize their effort and don’t take what they for granted. By doing so, you’ll make them feel and know that wheat they are doing matter.

We can help them to make a difference while making a difference ourselves, but most importantly, let’s remind them that “no one can make them feel inferior without their consent.” We have a job to do and let’s do it!

We may not reach them all, but we can empower one youth at a time.

LET’S HELP OUR YOUTH TO RECCONECT WITH THEMSELVES

We are already on the journey and the mistakes that we already made cannot be changed, but those mistakes shouldn’t stop us from believing what is still possible.

You and I know that it is easier today than ever before to get overly occupied with day-to-day activities of which can lead to you and I losing the sense of self or and what is possible. Who do you think have it harder to reconnect with themselves, adults or youth?

The reason it is important to reconnect with ourselves or to help our youth reconnect with themselves is because, when you are reconnected or connected you’ll be more inclined to understand what drives you. When you know what drives you, you’ll be more likely to be your best self.

If we can help our youth to reconnect or connect with themselves, purpose or passion, we reduce the chance of them sabotaging themselves.

Our youth is being pulled in different directions, but we can help to redirect them. Can we do that? Yes, we can! We have a job to do, and it doesn’t matter what position you hold, you can play a role in the process of instilling positive practices in our youth.

Let’s remind them:

  • To stop trying to fit in
  • To forgive themselves
  • To spend quality time with themselves
  • To trust themselves
  • To write down what they love about themselves
  • To share the strengths (passion) with the world
  • To think for themselves
  • To be easy on themselves
  • To show kindness to others
  • To be grateful
  • To let go of limiting beliefs

What else can we use to help our youth reconnect or connect with themselves?

If you are living a more fulfilled life due to the fact of you reconnecting with yourself, why not help our youth to do the same. Let them know what is possible. Let them know that you care. Let them know that you are for their success. They are the future and whatever good habits we can teach, let’s do it deliberately and intentionally.

Be a dream builder and not a dream killer.

IT IS POSSIBLE TO GO BEYOND LIMITATIONS. IT MAY NOT BE EASY, BUT IT IS POSSIBLE.
